~* Dare To Love *~

Romans 2:4 (NIV)
Or do you show contempt for the riches of His kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?

My friend Maggie and I have been studying "The Love Dare" together which I'm sure everyone is familiar with. We were meeting after night classes, and then life caught up with us and our VERY busy schedules, but we are not giving into Satan's temptations; we are continuing our studies through our blogs and invite anyone to join if they like or to simply enjoy reading the dares just as they are in the book!! Please refer to comments for discussions; this book is truly amazing and such a blessing!!

*~* October *~*

Joshua 1:8

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

WOW...So much has happened this month!! October has been amazing!! I have so much to update, so my next post will be everything in October...my birthday, our cruise to the Caribbean, Summer's b-day, and our family portraits. For now, I finally added a post I started back in August, so look for * My Best Friends * posted under the date: August 10, 2009. Until next time...:o)

*~* Born Again *~*

Revelation 22:20

He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

I was listening to my favorite radio station, New Life 91.9, when this song by Third Day came on, and I fell in love with it!!! I adore how God speaks to me while I'm riding down the road by playing the perfect song!! I know He's ALWAYS here, and I am so grateful for how he has humbled me recently. I read a story or hear a news highlight, and I'm ashamed at the importance I've placed on the menial details of my life when so many people are hurting and suffering, desperately needing our prayers and the healing power of Jesus in their lives. Sometimes I just cry because I am so grateful to feel God pulling at my heartstrings!! I have done many things I am not proud of, but I have a God who has given me second chances by forgiving me, and that is the biggest blessing I will ever receive, so He is first and foremost in my life, and I only ask that He lets me be His hands and feet and uses me in whatever way He will!!! "I'm coming back to the heart of worship because it's all about You; it's all about You, Jesus. I'm sorry, Lord for the thing I've made it when it's all about You; it's all about You, Jesus."

Today I found myself
After searching all these years
And the man that I saw, he wasn't at all who I thought he'd be
I was lost when you found me here
And I was broken beyond repair
Then you came along and you sang your song over me

It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
For the very first time
In my life

Make a promise to me now
Reassure my heart somehow
That the love that I feel is so much more real than anything
I've a feeling in my soul
And I pray that I'm not wrong
That the life I have now, it is only the beginning

It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
For the very first time
It feels like I'm breathing
It feels like I'm moving
For the very first time
For the very first time

I wasn't looking for something that was more
Than what I had yesterday
Then you came to me and you gave to me
Life and a love that I've never known
That I've never felt before

It feels like I'm born again
It feels like I'm living
For the very first time
I'm living for the first time
It feels like I'm breathing
It feels like I'm moving
For the very first time
I'm living for the first time
In my life

I have been MIA recently, but it is simply because I am taking 19 hours of classes while completing my field experience, and life is certainly busy with an almost 3 year old and a little one on the way, but I do love the sweet children I am teaching!! Thankfully, I have a husband who is a wonderful support, even on the hardest days; I would truly be lost without him!! Our cruise is coming up in 20 days, so we are most definitely looking forward to a break and a nice time away with one another!!! I also have a great Bible study I am sharing with my friend, Maggie which is a great inspiration!! The following are some adventures from the past month:

Amazing Weekend!!!

Hebrews 13:3

Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.

This weekend was exactly what I needed in more ways than one!! Friday, Summer and I went shoe shopping at Stride Rite, and she had more fun than I thought a 2 1/2 year old could have looking for shoes, but she knew we were there for her, so she took it all in!! I knew she needed some nice shoes for back-to-school and her birthday, so I took advantage of the buy one get one half off sale they were having so she could have a pair to wear to school and save one for her birthday. They fitted her little feet which had grown quite a bit and helped her try on different pairs until we picked the ones we love. She does not know I got the second pair for her birthday, so it will be a nice surprise, and for now she can enjoy her cute, pink, sparkly, comfy, Mary-Jane tennis shoes.

Summer Dawn Holding Mommy's Belly At 11.5 Weeks :)

Friday night, Adrian and I went on a much needed and very special date. Friday, August 14, 2009 was the five year anniversary of when Adrian and I first started dating. August 14, 2004 is the date we have engraved on our wedding bands. We really enjoyed celebrating the special day and reconnecting with one another with everything that has been going on recently. Adrian's mom was kind enough to watch Summer for us so we could enjoy a delicious 3-course dinner at Chili's and a movie afterwards. We also managed to fit in a little bit of shopping so we could walk down the baby aisles to get some future ideas which was a very sweet end to our night. My husband is such a good man, and he is so amazing to me; I am so happy and so blessed that God brought him into my life five years ago!!

This Is Adrian's Favorite Pic of Us!! :)

Saturday, I went shopping with my mom which I ALWAYS enjoy doing. It was GREAT having some mother-daughter/girl time with her, and it was so nice to have Adrian spend the day with Summer and have some special daddy-daughter time!! My mom was so sweet and bought me a dress to wear during my in-between stage of trying to find clothes that look "right" on me...ha ha. I absolutely love the dress and will wear it even after I have the baby!! We also got a couple cute outfits for Summer to go back to school and to wear in the fall. I LOVE shopping for Summer everywhere I go...way more than I enjoy shopping for me!! I am really looking forward to shopping for the new baby as soon as we find out what it is going to be!!

My Beautiful Momma And Me!! :)

Sunday (Today) was AMAZING!!! We visited a new church, LifePointe Christian Church in Fort Mill, and I LOVED it!!! It was incredibly worship oriented and Christ centered. It is definitely a place I see myself growing at and strengthening my relationship with Christ. The people there were awesome, and Summer's class seemed just like what she needs right now in her life as she is growing and learning so much!! I am extremely excited about the ministry we witnessed there!! We have been praying that God would open some doors for us, and this very well may be the door we enter. I have absolutely no doubt in my faith and am extremely encouraged that we were led to a place that can continue to help feed my faith, so I can share it with many other people! After church, we went over to Oma's house to celebrate her birthday, and we had such a nice, relaxing time!! Adrian's mom, step-dad, and their two children are incredibly sweet and welcoming, so it is always nice visiting with them!! I can't wait until Adrian's birthday party this weekend; I bought his birthday present today, and I am positive he will be very surprised!!

Princess Summer Dawn

James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

This post is devoted to my beautiful and precious daughter, Summer Dawn. She is so special and means so much to me!! I'm not going to lie; I have some very trying days with her, and she can certainly wear me out because she is a very active and busy 2 1/2 year old, but when I channel that energy, we have some amazing times together and make some wonderful memories!! :) Here are some pictures of my gorgeous princess (There are some just for you, Grammy and Heather!!):

Summer Has Taken A Recent Interest In "Ecersising" With Mommy...She Can Walk A Mile With Leslie Without Fail...Unbelievably Cute!! :)
Stretching Is Her Favorite Part!! :)
I Simply Do Not See How She Could Be Anymore Beautiful!! :)
Kisses Are Her Favorite Picture Pose...She Gives Such Sweet Kisses!! :)
Summer And Daddy Watching A Movie...She LOVES To Snuggle With Her Daddy On The Couch!! :)
She Is Definitely Sleepy By The End Of The Day...This Little Girl NEVER Stops Moving!! :)

I just wanted to take a second to clarify something from my last post. It was brought to my intention that some were under the misunderstanding that we are moving. We just moved, so we are certainly not moving now. We moved, knowing this was a transitional place before we find a more permanent space for our growing family, and I am looking forward to that!!

Summer Lovins ♥

Zechariah 7:9-10

"Thus says the LORD of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart."

So...It's been a little over 5 weeks since I last updated. I tried to lay low for a little while so I would not let our big news slip...We're PREGNANT with baby Southern # 2!! We are very excited, blessed, humbled, and grateful for this opportunity to raise another one of God's precious children!! We have had an unbelievably busy past 6 months, so it has been nice to take a break from everything this past month and let the newness of our new addition to come soak in because with pregnancy comes a LOT of getting used to and change. So far, I have had some cravings, but they come and go, and Adrian has been very accommodating when they come!! I mainly want fruit and vegetables which is a GREAT thing, and I do not desire coke or many sweets anymore which is even better!! I still like ICEES like I did with Summer Dawn. I have also started walking with Leslie, thanks to my Momma for some light exercising since running is sadly out of the question. I also enjoy my Wii fit for some relaxing yoga!! Summer is my main source of exercise!!

We have a lot coming up to look forward to!! We have Adrian's birthday in less than a month which I am in the process of planning for, my birthday, and then our cruise to the Caribbean that we re-booked for the two of us which will be a wonderful belated birthday celebration...I am super stoked about it!! Then, we have miss Summer Dawn's 3rd birthday PAR-TAY which she and I are extremely excited about...We have wonderful events planned for her very special day!! School starts back for Summer and me in the next month as well when I will be starting my field experience and working with special needs children, such a blessing and a passion!! Finishing my last bit of school with a little one and one on the way is going to be rather busy but a major accomplishment in the long run!! Summer is excited about adding on to what she has been learning this summer with Mommy with all her friends at Oakland Day School and then spending some quality one-on-one time with Grammy and some days with Oma!!

We should find out if we are having another little princess or a handsome prince on my next doctor visit which is when I will begin the blue or pink shopping and decorating for the baby!! I am also already excited about looking for a new, bigger place/house for the four of us, even though we just moved...Where we are is nice but temporary!! For now, I am grateful for my days as a stay-at-home mom!! It is much different than I thought it would be, and although some days can be challenging, I am so grateful that I have a husband who provides well for our family so I do not have to work!! Summer and I enjoy the simple life, and little things like collecting the TY beanie baby happy meal toys make us happy; she makes everything about my life incredibly rewarding!! I want to thank my mom for what a huge inspiration she has been to me recently; I love her so much!! I also thank Christ for keeping me grounded through all of this, and I give Him all the praise, honor, and glory!!

Being A Mommy ♥

Psalm 90:2

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

A Day With A Princess

Well, Summer has a set morning routine...she wakes up between 7:30 and 8:00, comes into our room, and asks for either "Bolt", "Barbie Movie", "Wizard Of Paz", "Carebears", "Elmo Loves You", "Abby Gabby", "Penguin Movie", "Fishy Movie", or "Baby Movie". Those are all code for her favorite movies. My favorites are the ones with 'Fast Play' so I can just pop it in, and it plays on its own ;). After I start her movie, I get her some milk and cereal, and she lies on the couch tucked under a blanket with her breakfast and movie for about an hour (Adrian and I take turns getting up with her each morning...he is SO good to help!!) Then, it's time for SCHOOL with Mommy. Heaven forbid I try to clean or accomplish any task when she is at her prime in the morning because she will get into everything!! She loves to color in her letter and number book, sing songs such as church songs and the alphabet song, dance to the music in her room, play tea party, doll house, and hide and seek (you should hear her count...too cute!! ;), read books, play with play dough, help Mommy make lunch and do laundry, and pee, pee, pee. She is doing really well with potty training and is greatly motivated by her big girl panties!! Right now, it is too hot to go outside and play, so we are looking forward to swimming in the pool when we move :) Sometimes we run errands in the morning, but we do that as quickly as humanly possible!! I even let her ride in the fun kiddie carts they have at different stores to make the process as peaceful as possible, even though those carts are one of the most annoying and cumbersome inventions...she loves them, and that's all that really matters. I always take time to let her look at the toys in the stores, and she never begs for them; she is always content just looking. We have, however, had to put our foot down in restaurants when she wants to sit with Mommy, and that is not always easy to do ;) She also LOVES to go to the park, even though she has her own mini park right in our backyard, so that is always her reward for being a good girl! In the afternoon, she 'normally' takes a couple hour nap, and I try my best to get as much done as I can!! Then, we greatly look forward to Daddy's return home and enjoy the evenings with him outside or just around the house when we have our devotions!! There are trying times, of course, and Summer does have a time-out stool, we are not opposed to appropriate spankings, and the word, "NO" is fairly common, but we always have a little chat and pray together when she says she's sorry. After 2 1/2 years, I still cannot turn my back for a second, and we have childproof locks on everything, but I am very blessed and grateful to spend my days at home with my little girl, even if they are crazy busy sometimes because it's the many good times that make it all worth it!! :)

The following pictures are from Mother's Day; it was such a special day!! I spent the afternoon with the girls: my little princess, my Momma, and our sweet dog, Oreo. We enjoyed a nice, delicious Sunday lunch that my Momma made and literally sat outside on the deck ALL afternoon. We really cherished spending time with one another!! When I came home, my sweet husband had a surprise for me waiting at the door...he is SO AMAZING!! I absolutely LOVE being Summer's Mommy, and I am so happy I have a wonderful Mommy, myself!! :) We celebrated her birthday this past week at our house, and we had such a nice time!!! ;) I will be SURE to put up the cute pictures soon, but for now, we must MOVE and embark on our new adventure!! :)

VA Is For Lovers ♥

Deuteronomy 6:4-5

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might."

On the road again we went. One of my best friends from kindergarten celebrated her wedding this weekend, so Adrian, Summer, and I packed up to Virginia to spend Father's Day weekend with my grandparents since my parents were down in Florida bidding Donnie farewell to California. It was very nice, and I am looking forward to visiting them again this summer! My grandparents hosted a lovely Sunday lunch with my Uncle Rusty, Aunt Diana, Uncle Regan, and cousin Jayme after we visited the church I grew up in. My grandmother made my favorite meal and another delicious cake! Thank you so much, Maw Maw and Paw Paw! We love you!

On our way back home we stopped by Virginia Tech to visit Heather and Dixie Caverns for Adrian for Father's Day! We picked up Papa D's father's Day present at the Rock Shop there as well since he loves rocks! We also found a new restaurant that we LOVE...Cookout...We love being spontaneous and finding new places!! :) We hope all the wonderful fathers in our lives had a very happy father's day; you all are more special to us than you know, and we are so thankful for you! And to my husband, Adrian, you have been more of a father than I could ever have asked for Summer...you are so loving towards her, and she positively adores her Daddy Adrian!

Celebrations!!!

This post is going to be super long because so much has been going on, and we have been all over the place, so I have a lot to catch up on. We are going tonight to get half of our professional wedding portraits back (about 500); I am SO excited. It will take me a while to go through them and post them, but I will put them up soon. I am going to try to finally post my mother’s day blog in the meantime ;). Adrian, Summer, and I are going to Virginia tomorrow to stay with my grandparents and visit the church I grew up in. We are also going to my best friend’s (from Kindergarten) wedding. When we come back, we will be packing, packing, packing because we are moving; YAY!! And then…drum roll please…I will be helping my best friend in the entire world plan her wedding before she moves to LA with Donnie. I am SO happy for them and am just truly living life right now. I am really blessed that Adrian and I get a fresh start to tide us over until I graduate, and we give the Lord all the credit and gratitude for where He continues to lead us!!

Well, Donnie officially graduated from college, and we are so proud of him!! He worked hard for two years, going to school around the clock, and he finally earned a bachelor’s degree in computer animation. The best news is that he already has a job in LA, California!! He got an offer from Luma, and he will be leaving at the end of June. We are all going to miss him a ton, but he is going to do great, and I will definitely look forward to visiting him and his soon-to-be wife as soon as we can!! J

We had an unbelievable time celebrating with him last week!! My mom, dad, Heather, Summer, Donnie, Adrian, and I all packed up and traveled down to Florida the day before his graduation so we could make it time to see his demo reel. His was awesome!! On Friday we went to rejoice with Donnie at his graduation ceremony which was really fun at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando. We spent the afternoon outside of Universal Studios and devoured a delicious meal at Longhorn Steakhouse later that evening. We went back to our hotel to eat some delectable Coldstone ice cream cake to congratulate Donnie, and then we played Apples to Apples and poker and laughed for hours!! I LOVE family game nights!! Saturday morning we woke up and drove to Cocoa Beach and stayed there as long as our little sun kissed bodies could handle…we also wanted to miss the storm so we went shopping for a bit at Ron Jon surf shop, my favorite place to go when we visit Donnie...Summer Dawn had a BLAST!! We ordered pizza that evening and watched a wedding in the atrium of our hotel. J Adrian, Summer, and I went for a nice walk around the beautiful lake outside of our hotel and then went swimming and sat in the sauna after Summer went to sleep. I do not believe I have relaxed this much since our cruise to the Bahamas after my high school graduation. My favorite part was just chilling in the hotel room!! I sure will miss these trips to Florida, but they were GREAT while they lasted, and I am SO blessed and happy I was able to spend such an incredible vacation and make so many memories with my amazing family that I love so much; I am so glad we are so close!! Thanks a million, Momma and Daddy!!
